HEAR Plus
Back in the early 70's, Hospitals all over the USA set up communications systems in the ER to provide instant, direct communications with emergency vehicles and other hospitals in times of emergency. It was called H.E.A.R. (Hospital Emergency Administration Radio. It was a great idea - now it's even better, with HEAR Plus!
Many people don't realize that the original H.E.A.R. system was developed to provide improved patient care, primarily for traffic related injuries in rural areas. In the 1960's, your chance for survival if you were injured in a rural automobile (most people drove cars back then) accident were not too good. We hadn't heard about 9/11, terrorists threats, Katrina, or Enterprise, but we did know that a better communications system was needed. To this day, there is no better emergency medical communications system available than H.E.A.R.
As a result in most states, the Department of Health through the Division of Emergency Medical Services issued a mandate that all hospitals providing emergency services will be equipped with a fully operational H.E.A.R. station in the Emergency Room. Sadly, many hospitals are not in compliance with this requirement or even recognize the original intent and value of the system. This does not change the fact that a fully functioning station is required in every hospital providing emergency trauma care services.
The Catch-22 is that the original manufacturer (Motorola) no longer supports the product and most ER Administrators have no knowledge of the operational functions of the system. We are delighted to announce that we have a second generation product that is fully compatible with the original system that actually adds features and benefits that were not included in the original system (HIPAA compliance being a noteworthy example).
A new generation system, known as H.E.A.R. Plus meets all HIPAA requirements, is totally interoperable with existing 2-way radios, as well as the new narrow band radio technology, as well as the federal standard P25 digital operating system. This system is available exclusively from Falcon Direct at surprisingly low cost. Better yet, all maintenance is included for five full years on fixed station radios and all hospitals can take advantage of special low pricing available through the State of Alabama contract.
