Case in point, one of our customers was using our Code Blue system in the emergency room to notify Code Blue teams. We also offer a Family Call system for the Operating Room unit to notify friends and family when th surgery is completed. This system consists of a sending terminal in the Operating Room and a quantity of wireless alerting receivers that are distributed to friends and family. The same sending terminal can be used for transmitting to both Code Blue and Family Call pagers. So what happens next?
An aggressive sales company comes in and sells the hospital on the benefits of the Family Call concept (which is always a good idea), that loads them up with a second sending terminal to work with their receivers. The tragedy is that the second terminal was not required. Not only did it add to the expense of purchasing and operating the second system, it added to the interference potential to the more essential Code Blue system - shame on them!
